Education & Experience
AC Cardwell has a strong educational background in education and leadership. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in History/Secondary Education from
Xavier University (1989), a Vocational Education Certification from
Wright State University (1993), and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program (2006).
In addition he has obtained numerous certifications in fire service leadership and fire operations, including the
University of Maryland’s Staff and Command, and the Covey Institute’s 7 Habits for Highly Effective People.
Certifications & Qualifications
Chief Cardwell was originally certified as a paramedic in 1990, and is also certified by the State of Iowa as a Fire Fighter II, Fire Inspector, and Fire Instructor. He is an active instructor and has developed and taught more than a dozen of his own training programs. He has worked as a technical consultant on 2 fire service texts, and is a member of the
International Society of Fire Service Instructors, as well as the National Fire Academy Alumni Association.
