NEW! Pilates at the Park

Pilates is a total body workout that uses specific breathing patterns and is designed to stretch, strengthen and elongate the body. It is similar to yoga, but often involves repetitions instead of static poses. This 5-week class will tone and strengthen the legs, core, and upper body. It's demanding, but it's not the kind of workout that always works up a sweat. It’s all about concentration and breathing, but you’ll definitely feel it in your muscles during each exercise. All fitness levels are welcome. Please bring a mat, towel, and water bottle to each class. Instructor: Alyssa DePhillips, DePhillips Health and Fitness LLC.

Yoga with Beth

For many years, yoga has helped people of all ages and walks of life improve their sense of health and well-being. Yoga combines fluid movements with focused and attentive breathing. This aligns the mind and spirit with the physical body, creating a perfect “union”, or “yoga”. In today’s hectic world, daily stresses and constant mental distractions put tension into our bodies, sometimes to the point of making us ill. The purpose of yoga is to soothe the inner spirit by calming the mind and body. Yoga poses help slow us down, and we naturally become more focused and relaxed. As students grow in their yoga experience, the poses become more challenging, allowing the body to grow stronger and more limber. At any level, the benefits of yoga are the same-stronger muscular endurance, sharpened mental clarity, deeper flexibility, improved circulation and immunity and above all a heightened sense of well-being. Let yoga start you on a journey you can enjoy for a lifetime-body, mind and spirit! This class is for active individuals who are injury-free. Sessions last 3, 4, 5 or 6 weeks. Instructor: Beth Damm.

Gentle Yoga

Beginning a yoga practice can be intimidating and overwhelming. To help you get started, we’ve created an introductory series for several different yoga styles. If you’ve always wanted to try yoga, but felt you weren’t physically able to, a gentle yoga class is the place to start. We will work at a slower pace, spend extra time to explain and work through poses, give modifications when needed, and give you support as you develop your new yoga practice. Rebecca has been teaching yoga throughout the community off and on for 5 years, and has a true passion for bringing it to people in a way that works best for them. 4 week classes.
