This project is the total reconstruction of 104th Street from Hickman Road to Douglas Parkway as a three-lane urban section roadway. This road would have one lane in each direction plus a left turn lane. Storm sewer would be installed with this project to allow the ditches to be filled and curb and gutter used on the new street. Sidewalks will be provided on both sides of 104th Street.
104th Street is closed to all traffic in Stage 1 from south of Buena Vista Drive to north of the creek crossing (see Road Closure Map and Staging Map below). In the past months, the work by the City Contractor has been significantly delayed due to independent utility relocations and excessive rainfall.
The Contractor, CTI, has completed paving and driveways in Stage 1. The remaining backfill will be completed and Stage 1 will be reopened on September 17, weather permitting. Buena Vista Drive will remain closed, and will be completed as soon as possible.
Stage 2 will be closed the week of September 16.
The Contractor has started work on storm sewer north of the Frontage Road and will continue to work north. Please use caution as the Contractor works adjacent to the roadway. Storm sewer and water main are being installed ahead of pavement removal in other stages to reduce the duration of future road closures.
Please check back to this page for project updates. We appreciate your patience.
Portions of 104th Street will be completely closed to through traffic during construction. Access will be provided for businesses along the road during road closures. Please follow posted signs and detours for routing around construction.
